Madelyn Priar, MSW
Madelyn Priar, MSW is a Licensed Social Worker under the supervision of Theresa Chesnut. After graduating from the University of Southern Indiana, Madelyn worked within homeless services for 3 years both as a case manager and in administration. Madelyn graduated with her Master’s of Social Work from Indiana University – Indianapolis in August 2025 to further serve her community within the mental health field.
As a fresh graduate, Madelyn is open to working with clients with a wide range of struggles, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, life changes, familial restructuring, self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation. Madelyn’s therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and mindfulness perspectives.
Professional Experience
During her time at IU, Madelyn completed a clinical internship at ECHO Community Healthcare where she learned how to navigate individual needs and how to apply therapeutic techniques to match each individual’s unique background. She also completed an internship with The Chesnut Group where she partnered with Holly’s House to provide Children and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention for children and their families who had experienced a traumatic event.
Madelyn’s work is grounded in curiosity, empathy, and collaboration to ensure that she maintains a client-centered approach to healing. Her goals for all her clients is to help them feel more in control, connected, and confident in everyday life.
Services Provided
Madelyn works with clients of all ages from young children to adults. She can provide individual therapy sessions both in person and via telehealth.
