Brittney Wetekamp, Intern

Brittney Wetekamp is a Mental Health Counselor Intern from Liberty University seeking full licensure in the summer of 2024. After working for over a decade in various mental health settings, such as non-profit agencies that focus on child abuse prevention and foster care, Brittney was compelled to become a counselor to help others navigate the stressors of life, work, relationships, and family.

Brittney’s areas of interest include but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, self-esteem, PTSD, and panic disorders. She uses an integrative counseling approach utilizing Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavior Therapy to track and understand the thoughts preceding their behaviors.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining The Chesnut Group, Brittney worked as a social worker for over five years in both a non-profit child abuse prevention program and non-profit foster care agencies. There, she provided support for families in the home and the community, empowering adults and children in difficult situations.

Brittney’s goal is to create a safe space to build confidence in your ability to heal and grow into the versions of yourself you aspire to be. She is committed to creating a strong and genuine therapeutic relationship, understanding that the client is the expert over their own life.

Services Provided

Brittney provides individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults both in-person in Evansville, Indiana, and online in Indiana.
