Mia Jeffries-Sullivan, MSW
Mia Jeffries-Sullivan, MSW is a Licensed Social Worker under the supervision of Theresa Chesnut. Mia specializes in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and is trained and certified in the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), receiving her certification directly through the Yale clinicians who created the model.
Professional Experience
Mia has worked with adolescents, adults, and families for the past three years across community and outpatient settings. She has extensive experience supporting adults living with severe and persistent mental illness, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. Her work has strengthened her skills in crisis intervention, symptom management, and building steady, trusting therapeutic relationships with individuals navigating significant distress.
In addition to her work with adults, Mia has a strong clinical foundation in supporting traumatized children, teens, and caregivers. Through her training and certification in the CFTSI model, she provides early intervention following acute traumatic events, helping reduce traumatic stress and strengthen caregiver–child connection. Her experience includes working closely with families during highly vulnerable periods to foster safety, resilience, and healing.
